Physiological stress is important to protect us, however psychological stress is sometimes just a misinterpretation of what’s actually going on. When we have a psychological stress – a fear of being judged for instance – we get a hormonal fight or flight response that’s very similar to a physical threat. It is not useful to have fears, anxiety, and stresses when coupled with the idea of taking action in the right direction.
Associate the proper hormonal response with the actual threat. Understand when it is an actual perceived threat, and when your frame of mind is in a negative expectation – a negative world of pessimism. If you think things are going to work against you, you’re going to have a much different experience than if you were to think positively. Learn how to associate positive hormonal responses with situations that once caused you anxiety by watching the video above.
